Jean C. Rothrock, the co-owner and president of Waccamaw Landscaping & Construction has lived along the South
Carolina coast for over 25 years. In 1983, Jean graduated from the University of Georgia School of Landscape Architecture.
Two years later she established Waccamaw Landscaping & Construction, since then, Jean has committed herself to designing
environmentally sensitive landscapes that support the needs of commercial, resort and residential development of the Carolina
coast. Jean commonly meets with clients and associated design professionals, supervises all landscape architectural
design and oversees the entire construction process.
In 2005 Jean and Chad opened a new enterprise, Waccamaw Farms; a full service garden center stocked with a diverse range of
products such as benches, statues, fountains containers, antiques, rugs along with annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and interior
plants. Everything is beautifully displayed in a garden-like setting.
Much of Jean's free time is spent with her husband, Steve, enjoying the European and African countryside. While overseas, Jean often visits the famous European gardens to further her knowledge of the history of landscape design and studies of native African plants and their uses in tribal culture ranging from food and housing to healing. Jean also has three dogs, which can usually be found following in her footsteps. Lizzy, Louise, and Henry are a very important part of Waccamaw Landscaping & Construction and will usually greet you at the door.
